My particular style of photography has evolved over the 20 plus years that I've been taking pictures, but I would have to say that at this point in time, close face-to-face and eye-to-eye portraitures of wildlife best describes what motivates me. This choice of a visual perspective, I think, comes from many of my own personal encounters outdoors. It's always an exhilarating experience for me when I can observe a wild animal going about its every day existence so beautifully adapted to the ancient environment in which it lives. On those even rarer occasions when eye to eye contact is made, there is the sense that we are similar in a very fundamental way.
These are the kinds of moments that usually stir a deep connection to the natural world, along with a supreme admiration for the animal. I hope my images convey this feeling to the viewer.

In it, I essentially tell my story, such as: how I got started, some of the usual pitfalls and frustrations many beginners experience, how I eventually found my creative niche, as well as some technical photographic stuff that may be useful.
